Donations: Deerfields Gluten-Free Supports Celiac Sprue Association of Greater Chicago (CSA/GC)2008-12-31
When gluten-free baker Lisa Albertson first met the charming Bruce Zarlengo, restaurant reviewer for the Celiac Sprue Association of Greater Chicago (CSA/GC), at the bakery, she loaded him up with some gluten-free treats to sample. It was the start of a mutually beneficial relationship. Bruce encouraged Francesca's Tavola, an Italian restaurant in Arlington Heights, Ill. offering a gluten-free menu, to order Deerfields' Rice Bran Artisan Rolls. At a fund-raiser dinner on September 8, the restaurant donated nearly $400 to the association and over 60 guests enjoyed a warm, crusty roll.
Deerfields Bakery donated two gift baskets for CSA/GC's fall fund-raising event on October 26. "
