Gluten-free Halloween cookies
Halloween is a busy time for Lisa Albertson of Deerfields Bakery,
who has been whipping up pumpkin-decorated sugar cookies for her loyal
patrons. These aren't just any ol' sugar cookies, though. Albertson
uses a gluten-free recipe to produce the delicate, melt-on-your-tongue
pastry.
The treats are topped with
a simple orange icing-- made with nothing but water, powdered sugar,
orange extract and natural color. Pumpkins are a popular choice, but
Albertson has also thrown a few other ghoulish inspirations into the
mix. Each cookie comes in its own 2-ounce package for just $2.29.
